A love of food, beverage and the unique flavors of Asia brought Takao and his wife Yuko to open Dragonfish Asian Cafe in 1997.
Born and raised in Japan, Takao moved to the Pacific Northwest in the 1990’s and now considers himself an official Seattelite. He is very proud and enjoys being a part of the dynamic Seattle restaurant scene.

Kenny joined the Dragonfish team in 2016 bringing his magnetic personality along with worldwide experience, specializing in the exotic flavors of Asia.
Before Ken made Seattle his home in 1979, he lived in Cambodia and Thailand. There he grew up surrounded by the diverse flavors of his Chaozhou-Chinese mother’s Southeast Asian and Southern Chinese cooking. From these rich culinary histories & heritages he draws his own unique, pan-Asian cuisine.
In addition to previously being at the helm of his own restaurants, Ken has collaborated as a chef and consulting chef with those seeking to deepen their Asian culinary journeys.
Prior to joining Dragonfish Chef Kenny’s most recent project, in 2015, was opening of the very popular Sichuan restaurant, Lionhead, as Chef de Cuisine and he was also the Chef/Owner of Shallots in Belltown.
A people person and love of the restaurant business brought Mari to Dragonfish in 2005.
Growing up in Seattle, Mari enjoyed dining out with her family and at an early age started her restaurant career. She brings a deep knowledge of Pan Asian cuisine and over 15 years of restaurant management experience to Dragonfish.
On any given day you can find Mari mingling with regulars or visiting with first time guests. “I love the relationships we’ve created at Dragonfish. So many wonderful guests come through our doors and it’s a privilege to serve them.”
